Strange vibes and weird frequencies: queering the discourse of sustainability and energy futures
How can queer theory substantiate futures making, and how can this expand and advance futures methodology? As an example case, the presentation focuses on the future of energy and how weirding and making strange plays a significant role in speculating on the energies future; on what this future looks like (from a queering perspective) in making comprehensible the challenge of replacing fossil fuels with alternatives. Included would also be some reference to the queerness of significant figures in the history of energy and discovery, e.g. Nikola Tesla.
