Bernadett Szél is an independent researcher and consultant living in Hungary. She obtained her MSc degree in economics (2000) and her PhD degree in sociology (2011) at the Corvinus University of Budapest. At the beginning of her professional carrier she worked in the private sector and in the civil sector, then became Young Researcher of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, followed by working for the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. Between 2012 and 2022 she was an opposition parliamentarian. Global climate protection, commitment to democracy and equality of rights are the main driving forces throughout her professional life.
