Intelligent System of Strategic Monitoring
The paper discusses the role of integrating Computational Intelligence (CI) an Artificial Intelligence field and Data Science (DS) with the field of Futures Studies. The combination between qualitative and quantitative methods offers a new dynamic adaptation route to face the rapidly changing environment, to make strategic design more flexible in the long term.
The role of DS is combining the art of conjecture with several algorithms available in the literature, using systems thinking approaches that can help to simplify thought processes about complex realities, and collaborative process to human or not information processing (e.g., IoT devices). Thus, the identification of interrelated and interdependent variables can be achieved, using several DS algorithms and hybridizing these.
The role of Computational Intelligence is aims to adapt dynamically to fast changing environ the long-term strategic design. The role of Computational Intelligence is help to exploration of the future using Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and Trend Impact Analysis methods, to adapts quickly to major changes in order to reduce the future uncertainty. The conceptual modeling suggests a new choice to anticipate behavior, set of future events and their impact utilizing prior knowledge, to face a dynamic environ. The proposal for integration of Computational Intelligence and strategic prospective is oriented to develop an Intelligent System of Strategic Monitoring framework as a renewal notion of a strategic Early Warning System (SEWS).
In order to make the future a space for long-term strategic reflection, new methods are proposed to conduct human assessments in meetings and workshops to discuss future interests, thus helping to create a display of hyper-knowledge in formulation processes.
