Isabelle Vuong
Isabelle Vuong (1980, Lausanne, Switzerland) holds a master’s degree in humanities (2005, University of Lausanne) and in futures studies (2020, Free University of Berlin), as well as a diploma in cultural management (2010, University of Lausanne). After working for a dozen years in the (performing) arts field, notably as managing director of Reso, the national competence centre for dance in Switzerland, the desire to broaden her horizons led her to study futures studies. Since then, she has run futures workshops (scenarios, Future Literacy, CLA, own methods) in the (non-)governmental and business sectors, notably on sustainability and cultural topics. In parallel, she initiated Open Futures, a Zurich-based initiative for greater social sustainability in the arts. Her research focuses on the social perceptions of the future that underpin attitudes to climate change and their relationship to efficacy and agency from a Western perspective. She lives between Berlin and Switzerland (Lausanne/Zurich).
